SOCIAL REHABILITATION OFFICE - The healing talking process 

That headache that you have may not necessary need medical attention. Those painful feet that you have may not need any medication. That emotional stress that you are experiencing does not need to go to the doctor. That anxiety that is bothering you may not be a medical problem. That misunderstanding that you have with workmate, your boss does not necessarily need to be taken to the manager/director. That sickness which is a thorn in your life. That loved one whom you realise has a problem.  Sometimes you just need someone to talk to, you may not necessarily want to share it with a friend, a colleague, your boss and even your partner. Do you mind coming to the Social Rehabilitation Office (number B15 first floor, DPSM Headquarters) just for a chat over that worry or concern that you have.

You are assured of absolute confidentiality and professional help over anything that you bring. You don’t necessarily have to tell us your problem but we can help you access help from elsewhere. You can even do it for someone else. We also do referral to specialised and relevant agencies and personnel. Do not hesitate until it is too late. Come One come All. If you are shy to come over you can pick up a phone and dial 745 if you are within DPSM headquarters or 3958745 during working hours. Your secret is secure with us.

You may wonder as why DPSM is doing all this:

• How would it help me to have someone who can listen?

Life is very busy these days so are people, you need to talk to this she has a meeting somewhere, this one has an appointment, that one is very tired he/she need time to rest. You will realise that they have all sorts of commitment. But at this unit we are all there for you.

• When can I go to see these people and not in anyway affect my job?

We offer 10-15 minutes sessions throughout the day, to avoid having to wait for long just call 3958745 or dial Ext: 745 to make an appointment. We are very conscious of time and would not waste anyone of yours.
